MANILA, Philippines - Red Lantern Productions is having its final audition this weekend (Sunday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) for its Pinoy rock musical Kabesang Tales.
It needs talented males (18-50 years old) and females (18-40 years old), who can sing and dance for lead and ensemble roles, for the musical adaptation of Dr. Jose P. Rizal’s novel El Filibusterismo.
Multi-awarded screenwriter Ricky Lee wrote the libretto of the musical which will be staged starting July 2015.
Principal characters being cast are Kabesang Tales, Juli, Tano, Tata Selo, Basilio, Simon, Maria Clara, Isagani, Narrator, Ensemble and Choir Members.
Applicants auditioning for the singing roles need to prepare two song numbers — one pop rock and one ballad. Dancers should prepare two dance routines — one modern, one jazz. Auditionees should also bring close-up and full-body photos (any size), minus one accompaniment, and short bio-data.
