MANILA, Philippines — Jessy Mendiola is happy with the success that her ex-boyfriend JM de Guzman is getting after making a comeback in showbiz.
JM's return was marked by the independent film "That Thing Called Tadhana," where he starred with Angelica Panganiban.
"He deserves everything he's getting right now. He deserves a second chance because I believe everyone deserves a second chance," she said in an interview aired in "Umagang Kay Ganda" on Wednesday.
The Kapamilya actress also admitted that she went out with JM recently, but denied they're back together.
"I could say na he's a very good friend of mine now," she replied when asked about their status. "He has always been a part of my life and I don't think anyone or anything could take him out of my life."
Yet when asked if she's willing to rekindle her relationship with JM, Jessy replied, "Hindi po ako mahilig magsara ng pinto. Kadalasan po kapag sarado ang pinto 'yong bintana ang bukas."
