MANILA, Philippines - Two years ago, Rocco Nacino (photo) portrayed the life of the second Filipino saint St. Pedro Calungsod who was thrown to the sea in Guam in 1672 when he was 17 years old. Rocco considers the scene as the greatest challenge he faced while shooting for the film Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir because he almost drowned.
Tomorrow on GMA 7’s Alisto, Rocco shares some details of the incident. He recalls that he almost drowned after having difficulty unfastening a heavy stone tied to him when he had to plunge into the water. It didn’t help also that they needed to brave a 10-foot wave.
Alisto, hosted by Arnold Clavio, airs Mondays at 4:35 p.m.
