Piolo, John Lloyd win best actor at Star Awards for Movies 2015

MANILA, Philippines - Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz were both named Movie Actor of the Year during the 31st Philippine Movie Press Club Star Awards for Movies on Sunday.

Piolo won the award for his role in "Starting Over Again," while John Lloyd got the nod for his performance in "The Trial."

They bested five other actors, including Dennis Trillo ("The Janitor") and Derek Ramsay ("English Only, Please"), for the award.

Gretchen Barretto and Sylvia Sanchez also tied for the Movie Supporting Actress of the Year award, both for their performance in "The Trial."

Meanwhile, Nora Aunor was named Movie Actress of the Year for the suspense movie "Dementia."

Miggs Cuaderno ("Asintado") and Bimby Yap ("The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2") were named Movie Child Performer of the Year.
