Body Talk with Max Collins

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

A “new” Max Collins will greet you when you open the pages of FHM magazine’s current issue — sexier, more daring and more “with it,” an abrupt departure from the Max Collins that you see on the Kapuso programs Kailan Ba Tama Ang Mali, Bubble Gang and Sunday All Stars.

Asked why it took her time to have her rich natural resources showcased in the men’s magazine that serves as the launching pad of stars changing their image, Max said, “Because I’m up for new challenges this year, so it’s a new me that you will see.”

She added that she didn’t have much time to prepare for the shoot, no thanks to her tight work schedule.

“All I did was eat less, wore a corset for a few hours every day and attended a hot yoga class.”

The pictorial went smoothly, all right, but there was a little surprise for Max.

“Was I nervous?” asked Max. “Of course, I was. First time, eh. Good thing everyone helped me to relax. The most schooling part was when Doc cut my dress! I didn’t see it coming at kinabahan talaga ako.”

The FHM splash will definitely change the direction of her career.

“Maybe people will start seeing me as an adult now,” said Max. “I guess this is me transitioning from a girl into a woman.”

A Monkey according to the Chinese Zodiac, Max was born on Aug. 28, 1992. She stands 5’6”, measures 34-26-36 and wears size-9 shoes. She finished high school and had an internship with a construction company in California, USA.

How did you get a body like that (must be in your genes)?

“I’m naturally big-boned so that’s a result of my genes. I do yoga to keep fit and try to eat healthy as much as possible.”

What’s your regular diet? Do you manage to take three square meals a day?

”I usually have so much to do in a day so I only get to eat two full meals. I really like sandwiches with veggies and tuna or chicken. Then,  I drink coffee and hot chocolate all day to keep my energy up.”

Any snacks between meals?

“I consider hot chocolate and coffee as snacks, since I drink them between meals.”

What kind of food do you avoid, and what kind do you always crave for?

“I try to avoid salty food as much as possible. And cheese (even though I love cheese) because I feel so bloated after eating it. I always crave sweets! But I try to stay away from artificial food and msg.”

How much water do you take per day? Juices, soft drink, coffee or tea?

“Probably, four cups of coffee a day, a cup of lemon grass tea at night. I don’t take soft drinks. I try to drink as much water as I can, lots of water!”

What vitamins do you take?

“I don’t take vitamins (but I should). Sometimes, I take Berocca when I feel sick or low on energy.”

What workout do you do?

“I do yoga. Hot yoga, vinyasa, or whatever class I can attend. I also dance on weekends on Sunday All Stars. Dance is a good exercise.”

Any part of your body that needs improvement?

“My butt could be firmer and I want defined abs this summer.”

Most vulnerable part of your body?

“My eyes.”

Favorite part of your body?

“My cheekbones; they are well-defined. Hahahaha!”

What part of a man’s body do you look at first?

“A man with broad shoulders is hot.”

What else turns you on in a man? And what turns you off?

“When he’s a gentleman, that’s definitely a turn-on. When a man is over-confident, that’s really a turn-off.”

How much sleep do you get per night?

“Five to seven hours.”

Favorite sleepwear?

“Nighties.”

How many pillows do you sleep with?

“Three.”

Do you snore?

“I wouldn’t know. Tulog ako, eh. Hahahaha!”

Do you talk in your sleep?

“Hmmm, I really hope I don’t baka kung ano ang masabi ko. Hahahaha!”

Do you sleepwalk?

“I hope not.”

Last thing that you do before you go to sleep?

“Pray.”

First thing that you do as soon as you wake up?

“Pray again.”

How’s your love life?

 “Quiet.”

Any nightlife?

“I don’t have time for one! But I’m planning to go out more when my schedule clears up.”

How do you cope with stress? Do you meditate, listen to music, watch movies?

“I listen to meditation music. It relaxes me and makes me fall asleep easily. Yes, I also watch movies in theaters, never pirated DVDs. The last one that I saw was Gone Girl. An awesome movie, superb acting.”

How do you take care of your skin?

“Faces & Curves takes care of my skin.”

Favorite hideaway/favorite city?

“Singapore is beautiful and everyone minds his own business. You can just get lost in the city and enjoy the sights. In the Philippines, I’d have to say Boracay. I still consider it as a home.”

Are you an optimist or a worrier (outlook in life)?

“I try to be an optimist but I really am a worrier. Hahahaha! I worry about everything. At the end of the day, I just leave it all to God. He knows best.”

Three men that you think have nice bodies?

“Adam Levine, Channing Tatum and, yes, still Adam Levine.”

Using only body language, how would you make a man know that you admire him?

“I pretend to ignore him. He’d definitely notice me then! Hahahaha! Well, I’m actually really shy so I’d let the guy make the first move.”
