D’Sound back with Signs

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - D’Sound, the band behind the hits Tattooed On My Mind, Talkin’ Talk, Do I Need A Reason and People Are People, is back with a brand-new album titled Signs.

Signs, the Asian Edition, features 12 tracks including the singles Lose Control and Love Like Rain, plus two bonus tracks of Win It (Coucheron and Lido Edit).

At the onset of the ’90s, D’Sound — made up of singer Simone Larsen, drummer Kim Ofstad and bassist Jonny Sjo — burst into the Oslo club scene. The band easily stood out due to its members’ knack for music, ability to absorb musical influences, genuine love for music on- and off- stage and required professional experience. This resulted to a record deal and breakthrough in Norway, a release in several other countries, and various performances both in Norway and overseas.

Now having developed and matured, D’Sound has still kept strong elements of soul, R&B, jazz and drum and bass, as pop music has progressed from its acid jazz starting point.

D’Sound was formed in 1993 when Simone, Kim and Jonny had their first rehearsals in a damp Oslo basement. Kim and Jonny, who got to know each other studying music in the US, were introduced to Simone in 1993. The three of them hit it off immediately in terms of chemistry and musical preferences, and started the Oslo garage band Sweet ‘n’ Sour, later to be called D’Sound.

Signs is exclusively distributed by MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines) and is now out in CDs at Astroplus and Odyssey outlets, and digitally via spinnr.ph, iTunes, Spotify and Deezer.
