Ogie writes song for the Fallen 44, donates talent fee in concert

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Hats off to Ogie Alcasid who is writing a song for the 44 PNP SAF members killed in the Mamasapano tragedy. (By the way, I agree with people who said that the cops should not be described as “fallen” and should be called The Gallant 44 instead.

Not only that. Ogie is also donating his talent fee from the MuSIKATin: Musikang Sikat Sa Atin, said to be the biggest OPM concert to be staged, set for tonight at the Philippine Arena which can accommodate 55,000 people, because it celebrates Original Pilipino Music from the last five decades and featuring some of the country’s biggest OPM artists. Including Hajji Alejandro, Rey Valera, Michael V., Angeline Quinto, Lovi Poe, Solenn Heussaff, Gloc-9, Jett Pangan, Verni Varga and, of course, Ogie himself. Musical director is Ryan “Mr. C” Cayabyab, with Paolo Valenciano as overall director.

Ticket prices to the concert presented by Philippine Arena and Maligaya Development Corporation are affordable: P1,760 for VIP, P1,250 for Gold, P950 for Silver, P730 for Bronze and P320 for General Admission. (Call 470-2222.)
