Bret Jackson describes Andi Eigenmann as 'close friend'

Bret Jackson: You're there for someone not because you want her to be your girlfriend, but because you care for them and you love them. Joyce Jimenez

MANILA, Philippines - Bret Jackson considers Andi Eigenmann as a “close friend,” after the two were recently linked after the actress officially broke up with Jake Ejercito.

“Right now she's a close friend, like we're there for each other, it's all I can say,” Bret replied when asked where Andi is in his life now, in an interview on Tuesday.

“Kasi I mean, I can't force anything,” he explained. “I can't force anyone to care about you the way you care about them. So for me if we have friendship, that's good enough for me," he said.

The past few weeks, Andi has been the talk of the town again after settling a rift with ex-boyfriend Jake, and after ex-boyfriend Albie Casiño reiterated that he's not the father of her daughter.

With everything that Andi's going through, Bret said he comforts her by “just by being there for her, whenever she needs me, if she wants me there for her and Ellie. I've always been there for them for the past six months, whenever Andi is down, I'm the one to pick her up.”

The Viva actor also said he understands the Kapamilya actress' decision not to prioritize love life for now.

“It's not about love life for being there for someone,” he said, when asked to react on Andi setting aside matters of the heart. “You're there for someone not because you want her to be your girlfriend, but because you care for them and you love them.”

The two will star in Viva Film's upcoming movie “Your Place or Mine.”
