TV5 launches Hi-5 Phl

Ver Paulino - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - TV5 is proud to announce its partnership with Hi-5 World, the Australian producer of one of today’s most popular children’s programs, Hi-5, with the upcoming launch of the local version, Hi-5 Philippines.

To formalize the partnership, TV5 president and CEO Noel Lorenzana with head of entertainment Wilma Galvante and chief finance officer Anna Bengzon signed a contract with Hub Media chief executive Kevin Balhetchet and Hi-5 World GM for global sales and operations Jaenani Netra last Feb. 4 at 2nd Restaurant in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.

Hi-5 is hosted by five multi-talented performers namely, Mary, Stevie, Dayen, Ainsley and Tanika. The Hi-5 gang utilizes the power of music and dancing to interact with children and make learning more fun. They actively and energetically entertain children and at the same time, hone their imagination and creativity by telling stories as they explore various adventures in the show.

With TV5’s partnership with Hi-5 World, not only has the Happy Network earned the rights to air the hit Australian children’s show on free TV (Hi-5 now airs weekdays on TV5 at 8:30 a.m.), it also marks the launch of a massive nationwide search for new talents to become the pioneering batch of hosts of Hi-5 Philippines.

According to Galvante, “The message of the song and the music of Hi-5 will be there. And for our local hosts, we started screening. Hi-5 World gave us the guidelines to follow aside from being good singers and dancers.”

“Reaching out to children is one of the most important characteristics we are looking for and we are excited to see the new show, Hi-5 Philippines, with TV5,” added Netra.

Hi-5 Philippines will air Mondays to Fridays at 8:30 a.m., starting Feb. 21.
