Incubus to rock MOA Arena on March 13
MANILA, Philippines - American alternative rock band Incubus will rock the concert and music scene with its exquisite and innovative sound that features an eclectic mix of diverse genres and styles when it returns for a major concert on March 13, 8 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Titled Incubus Live In Manila 2015!, the Manila stop of the group is part of its 2015 Asian tour that kicked off with its performance at the Soundwave Music Festival in Australia this month before it heads to Japan and the Philippines in March for other shows.
To be featured as opening act is American YouTube sensation Lindsey Stirling, also known as the “dancing violinist.”
To be mounted by Ovation Productions, the one-night gig brings back to be concert scene the popular band almost four years since its last performance on July 28, 2011 before a packed audience at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Among its chart-topping albums are Fungus Amongus, S.C.I.E.N.C.E., Make Yourself, Morning View, A Crow Left Of The Murder, Light Grenades and If Not Now, When?, while its No. 1 singles include Drive, Megalomaniac, Anna Molly, Love Hurts and Adolescents.
The musical saga of Incubus began when it was formed in 1991 in Calabasas, California by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger, drummer Jose Pasillas and bassist Alex Katunich, who began playing together while they were studying in 10th grade.
After its recording debut in 1995 with its first album, Fungus Amongus, followed two years later by its second album, S.C.I.E.N.C.E., the band gained mainstream recognition when it started branching out creatively with the release of its highly-acclaimed third album, Make Yourself, in October, 1999.
Immediately going Platinum (1,000,000 copies sold), the recording attained greater popularity when the fourth single from it, Drive, (released in January, 2001), became a huge success and helped the band break into the mainstream as it moved quickly up to the top of the Modern Rock charts, eventually hitting the No. 1 spot before reaching the top of the Billboard 100 singles chart.
Incubus opened the 2015 season with a series of tours of North America and other parts of the world that began with its performance at the Soundwave Music Festival in Australia this month, alongside Faith No More and Soundgarden, to be followed by shows in Japan and the Philippines in March.
As it marks 24 wonderful years in the music and entertainment world, the band stands out for its magnificent record highlighted by the great critical and commercial success it has earned for its outstanding body of work.
It has been widely acclaimed for its innovative and creative act in utilizing elements from a variety of genres and styles, including alternative rock, heavy metal, electro, funk, funk metal, jazz, hip-hop, new metal, rap metal, techno and techno hop.
The group has also utilized in its music a variety of instruments not traditionally associated with rock music, including adjembe, sitar, didgeridoo and bongos in many of Incubus’ earlier tracks and during live performances, as well as a pipa in the song, Aqueous Transmission.
