MANILA, Philippines - “She’s still not a singer.” Thus said Lea Salonga when asked to comment about Anne Curtis’ singing on social media.
The statement came out on Sunday, when one of the singer and “The Voice of the Philippines” coach’s followers asked Lea to comment on Anne’s performance on ABS-CBN’s variety show “ASAP.”
Anne, together with “The Voice” coach Bamboo and some “The Voice” finalists, performed the songs of Swedish DJ duo Icona Pop. “So much fun,” the Broadway star answered.

Days later, another netizen asked Lea: “Or sure you would say that. But how about her singing?”
Lea answered: “She's still not a singer (which she admits openly).”
But she offered a bit of praise for Anne. “But her intonation is improving” she said on Twitter.

This isn’t the first time Lea commented on Anne as a singer.
In an interview in 2012, the veteran singer was asked t comment on Anne and his first Araneta Coliseum concert. Lea said she finds Anne’s Araneta Coliseum concert “cute” but she’s “not sure if she should make a career out of singing.” She said in the 2012 interview: “
But I think, in reality, I think she knows what she is, she knows who she is. I think she just basically let out a wish and somebody made it come true. I thought it was really cute.”
