MANILA, Philippines - Heart Evangelista, who is set to get married to Sen. Francis “Chiz" Escudero next weekend, is still hoping her parents will attend her wedding.
In an interview with members of the press during her launch as the endorser of Uncle Tetsu Cheesecake on Monday, the GMA-7 star said: “Actually, ever since before 'yon naman talaga ang naging problema namin ng parents ko. It's very hard for them to let go.”
“So, matagal ko na rin sinasabi, even in my previous interviews, na baka hindi sila pumunta. Siyempre, may konting hope ako na dumating sila,” Heart added,
The 29-year-old actress revealed in previous interviews that her parents Reynaldo and Cecilia Ongpauco will not attend her wedding on February 15. This is after Heart had a falling out with her parents due to her relationship with Escudero. She reconciled with her parents last year.
Heart told members of the press on Monday that she has decided and accepted that she will walk the aisle alone on her wedding day.

“I've accepted that kasi as their daughter, ako lang naman talaga ang makakaintindi sa kanila. It's also big for me to walk nang magisa kasi parang 'yon na rin ang naging journey ko, na maging brave,” she said
Heart added, “Pinaninindigan ko 'to and this is my lifetime choice. And as a woman, this is where I will go, okay naman.”
The actress said she remains in contact with her parents following their reconciliation last year. Heart added her fiance Chiz is exerting an effort to improve their relationship with her parents.
“Mayroon siyang mga effort pero hindi ko na lang din sasabihin. Of course, it's his sincerity that's important, not what I say in front of the camera,” she said.
Heart also said, “Ang importante naman din is as long as wala kayong sinaktan and as long as masaya kayong dalawa.”
In response to bashers who kept on criticizing Heart online, she said: “The hell with the haters lang. This is my moment. Di ba, ito na ang buhay ko.”
“Eventually, when my parents leave me behind this world, what's important is I also have my own family.”
