MANILA, Philippines - Election lawyer Romy Macalintal (photo) will host a radio program over DZRH, 666khz, starting today and every Saturday thereafter at 1 p.m. to discuss the benefits and privileges of senior citizens as provided under Republic Act 9994, otherwise known as the Senior Citizens Law.
The show is titled Mga Alaala at Paala-ala ni Mr. Senior Citizen where Romy will answer questions and problems encountered by senior citizens in the exercise of their rights and privileges as well as questions raised by some establishments on the implementation of the law. It is coupled with entertainment portion where Romy will likewise play love songs of yesteryears enjoyed by our senior citizens during their younger days.
Romy, who is likewise a senior citizen and who will be 68 years old this coming July, said that the program was envisioned “to serve as an action center where senior citizens and establishments could have a dialogue on the proper implementation of the law so as to avoid confusion or problems in its enforcement.”
