Journey to stardom begins at Asian Music Camp

MANILA, Philippines - The Asian Music Camp website is in its final stages of its test mode regarding the technical components for all online registration, submission and voting. The site, www.asianmusiccamp.com, will be launched and fully functional on Jan. 23.

Arnel Pineda (photo), the lead singer of the legendary band Journey, together with the music powerhouse Sanre Entertainment are the creators and producers of the Asian Music Camp, which evolves from online submission of demo raw music videos and eventually is broadcast on television throughout Asia when it reaches face-off round kicking off the TV season premiere. The grand prize winner will receive a recording and a management contract worth approximately $1M, as well as mentorship by globally-renowned music industry professionals.

Arnel owes his humble beginnings to the idea behind the show. Growing up on the streets of Manila, Arnel struggled to survive on a day-to-day basis to follow his dream — to sing and play music. Working against all odds, Arnel worked in small clubs and venues until he was discovered by members of the world-famous Journey. Asian Music Camp is an extension of this desire to help others achieve their dreams.

Asian Music Camp, presented by Arnel and Sanre Entertainment, is the newest and biggest music talent competition taking place in Asia. Contestants submit their demo raw music video of one cover song and one original song online, both in English and not to exceed eight minutes in total for both songs.
