GMA events in Ati-Atihan

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A star-studded celebration of Kalibo, Aklan’s biggest festival happens this week as GMA Network brings in some of the Kapuso stars to rev up the Ati-Atihan.

For the fifth consecutive year, GMA Network joins the Municipality of Kalibo and Kalibo’s Sto. Niño Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. in mounting an all-party and all-positive vibe gala for the enjoyment of the Aklanons.

The Kapuso festival celebration officially began last Jan. 9 with the 2015 Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan beauty pageant held at the ABL Auditorium. Present during the contest was Hiram na Alaala’s Kris Bernal who served as a judge. Second Chances’ Chynna Ortaleza who hosted the event, while Mike Tan serenaded the contestants.

Meanwhile, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid showcases her trademark vocals in a Kapuso Night to be held at the Kalibo Pastrana Park tonight at 7. Joining her in a live performance are Miguel Tanfelix, Bianca Umali and Betong Sumaya, stars of Once Upon A Kiss.

“GMA Network welcomes 2015 with spectacular shows at Kalibo’s Ati-Atihan Festival. This year, we are fulfilling a promise to all Aklanons as we bring closer to them our prime artists led by Regine Velasquez-Alcasid,” says Oliver Victor Amoroso, GMA Regional TV AVP and head of Regional Strategy and Business Development Division.
