RCD Land awards houses & lots to Amazing winners

MANILA, Philippines - RCD Land, Inc., a real estate company that develops and markets affordable housing projects, recently awarded two house-and-lot units to dating couple Matthew Edwards and Phoebe Walker, winners of the second season of the reality show The Amazing Race Philippines.

During the awarding ceremony held at RCD Royale Homes in Silang, Cavite, RCD Land president Rolando Delantar turned over the ceremonial keys to the two Amethyst house-and-lot units to Matthew and Phoebe. The Amethyst model, RCD Royale Homes’ latest offering, is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom up-and-down unit with a modern Mediterranean look. Delantar also gave the winners a tour of the locale of the RCD Royale Homes, which is set in the tranquil landscape of Silang, Cavite.

Dubbed as the Team Dating Couple, Matthew, 22, and Phoebe, 23, bested 10 other teams to become the second champions in The Amazing Race Philippines. Behind them at second and third places, respectively, are Team Mr. Pogi (composed of JP Duray and Kelvin Engles) and Team Chefs (composed of Eji Estillore and Roch Hernandez).

From the beginning of the race in Manila, the team showed trailblazing performance placing third in the first leg and winning additional cash prizes, but suffered setbacks in the succeeding legs. However, the “bickering dating couple” set aside their differences and proved that their love can weather whatever challenge put along the way. Their decision paid off and they won the top spot at the finale in Camiguin Island, which was aired recently over TV5.

The couple also received a P2M cash prize on top of the P800,000 they won in four pits stops of the race. In addition, they also received two sports utility vehicles.

Matthew and Phoebe have been dating for two years now. Matthew is a commercial model and brother of Juan Direction member Henry Edwards, while Phoebe, also a commercial model, is a member of the girl group Eurasia.

For their new house-and-lots from RCD Land, Matthew and Phoebe thanked Delantar, who they remembered from the sixth leg of the race also held at RCD Royale Homes Silang. “He’s very humble; during the race here in Silang, siya yung nag-abot sa amin ng clue. Ngayon, inabot naman niya sa amin itong keys ng bahay,” Phoebe recalls.

Delantar, likewise, couldn’t be happier that his company’s partnership with TV5 has been fruitful once again. RCD Land had earlier provided the house-and-lot prize for the talent show Talentadong Pinoy Worldwide in 2013.
