What you see in the mirror
Sometimes I would ask my guests on my various shows this proverbial question, “Ilalabas ko ang aking mahiwagang salamin, ano ang nakikita mo?” I would get answers ranging from the humorous, lachrymal, spiritual up to the esoteric. Some guests would cry their hearts out while others would praise or encourage themselves to become better persons.
I believe all of us want to see the best possible versions of ourselves when we look in the mirror. But sometimes we’re guilty of saying “pwede na yan” or “okey na yan” whether in our career, our family life, our relationships or even in smaller things like skincare. And this is what Olay’s newest campaign is all about — encouraging women to never settle and to continue pushing to be the best. This is what striving to be your Best Beautiful every day is all about.
Olay, one of the largest skin care companies in the world, believes that women deserve only the best. That is why, Olay never settles and constantly evolves to create the most advanced skin care products in the world to make each woman look and feel her best beautiful.
I was invited again to host Olay Conversations Season 3. In the past, I had done insightful Olay Conversations with Kris Aquino, Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski, Bea Alonzo, Nikki Gil, Denise Laurel, Crickette Tantoco, Camille Co, Mandy dela Rama, Priscilla Meirelles-Estrada and Mons Romulo.
In Season 1, Olay Conversations focused on being fearless while Season 2 talked about being proud of your age. Seasons 1 and 2 are still up on YouTube. Go check them out.
In Season 3, it’s about women who are in their Best Beautiful, who choose not to settle for anything less than the best. This season, women are encouraged to always strive to be better. By sharing the stories of inspiring women who continuously work hard to be the best versions of themselves, Olay aims to inspire other women to be their Best Beautiful, too.
The latest season of Olay Conversations presents KC Concepcion, Kathryn Bernardo and Bea Valdes — women who share inspiring stories of how they’ve become their best beautiful in their respective careers and life choices.
KC did not settle for simply being known as Megastar Sharon Cuneta’s daughter. She works hard to create her own niche in a world where her mother reigns supreme. After finishing her studies in Paris, KC entered showbiz and portrayed diverse characters. This year, she won in the 30th PMPC Star Awards for Movies (Movie Actress of the Year) and 62nd FAMAS Awards (Best Actress) for her brilliant performance in Boy Golden. She is the national ambassador Against Hunger of the UN’s World Food Program.
Kathryn never settled in her comfort zone but works continuously to improve her craft as an actress. From being a child star, Kathryn emerged as the Teen Queen opposite Teen King Daniel Padilla. She is the other half of the KathNiel loveteam that makes fans go gaga wherever they are. They appeared together in top-rating series (Princess & I and Got to Believe) and hit movies (24/7 in Love, Sisterakas, Must Be Love, Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay and She’s Dating the Gangster).
Bea relentlessly pursues her own passion. Coming from a family with three generations in fine jewelry trading, she is now an internationally-acclaimed accessories designer. Her beaded bags are a must-have. In 2005, Bea presented her bag collection in the US and Vogue Magazine dubbed her creations as “the must-have evening bags of the year.”
I learned a lot from this season’s Olay women. First, you can’t be complacent with your beauty and in life. There is always something to improve on and you only have to make that effort to be better, to be your best Best Beautiful. You have to constantly find ways to improve yourself.
Indeed, Olay proves that you can look and feel best beautiful every day — if you choose not to settle.
