Did Joey de Leon throw shade against Korina Sanchez over 'Ruby' comment?

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Were Joey de Leon’s scathing comments regarding typhoon 'Ruby' intended for ABS-CBN newscaster Korina Sanchez?

The TV host-comedian did not specify who tweet was for.

However, many netizens speculated that Joey was pertaining to Korina, one of the news anchors of ABS-CBN’s news program “TV Patrol.”

During “TV Patrol’s” December 3 newscast, Korina made a comment that typhoon Ruby should hit Japan instead of the Philippines.

“Kaya pa natin idasal yan para lumihis,” she said during the broadcast.

“Sana ay hati na lang tayo. Kalahati sa Pilipinas, kalahati sa Japan,” “TV Patrol” co-anchor Noli de Castro said.

“Puwede bang sa kanilang lahat? Sa kanila na lang lahat. Parang mas kaya nila,” Korina said.

On Tuesday, Joey further commented on the issue. “JAPAN now is not just "Just Always Pray At Night". Dapat din daw ay "Just Always Pray And Newsread,” he tweeted.

It can be remembered that Joey also took to social media last year to criticize on the local media’s coverage of typhoon Yolanda.

Many believed the said tweets also pertained to Korina, who criticized “a blonde reporter ng CNN” as “mali-mali” following Anderson Cooper’s coverage in Tacloban amid typhoon Yolanda.
