MANILA, Philippines - Despite tough competition in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), Vice Ganda said he’s not nervous about the box office prospects of his movie 'The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin.'
In fact, he is already aiming for the top spot in the box office ranking in the MMFF.
“Kine-claim ko lagi. Lagi kong kine-claim na, ‘Number one ito! 500 (million) ito! 400 (million) ito!’ Kine-claim ko. Kasi ang bait ng Diyos sa akin, e. Kung ano ang kine-claim ko, binibigay niya,” Vice told entertainment reporters during the press conference for The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin on Sunday.

He added, “And he never failed me. Simula nung kauna-unang araw na nag-pelikula ako, binibigay niya.”
“And makikita naman natin. And alam naman natin na every year, binibigay niya.”
The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin, which also stars Richard Yap, James “Bimby” Yap Jr. and Tom Rodriguez, will be competing with the Kris Aquino horror film “Feng Shui 2“ and the Vic Sotto-Ryzza Mae Dizon comedy “My Big Bossing’s Adventures” in this year’s MMFF.
Vice’s movies have consistently done well in the box office. “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin” was 2011's highest grossing Filipino movie, while “Sisterakas” was the highest grossing Filipino movie of 2012.

“Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy,” an entry in the 2013 MMFF, also did well in the box office. According to Vice, the movie was able to overtake the Vic Sotto-starrer “My Little Bossings” in terms of earnings after the run of the film fest.
Now, the ABS-CBN star is aiming to get P600 million in the box office for “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin.”
“I-600 (million) na natin ito. Para at least pag di natupad, may 500 pa, di ba? Kung hindi matupad, may 400 pa,” he said.
Vice aded, “600(million). Walang mawawala kung ike-claim ko.”
“The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” opens in theaters December 25.
