True to its name, the post-war magazine Newspic (1946) featured on its pages the lovely faces and shapely figures of actresses.
On the cover is Vida Florante in a figure-hugging gown by Pilar Ver of The New Yorker. She was the star of Fort Santiago.
Bob’s camera captured the lovely faces of brown-eyed Virginia Warne, billed Cover Girl of the Philippines. Inset was taken by X’OR. Virginia was featured in the 1947 film Tahi, topbilled by Teddy Benavides and Flora (‘Figure’) Mirasol.
Flora herself (offcam Florence Macdonough) came out in Newspic in a low-cut gown.
The refreshing face of the young Tita Duran also graced Newspic. — RKC
