Hope for Humanity song for Yolanda victims’ rehab
MANILA, Philippines - It has been a year since Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) struck Visayas but the rebuilding continues, especially among those who lost their homes in the aftermath of the disaster. MCA Music believes that efforts for rehabilitation should press on and with that, the concept for the song Hope For Humanity was born.
“We had contributed to the relief work for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan through the worldwide effort of our parent company Universal Music Group via Songs For The Philippines and locally, via our benefit show last year at Eastwood Central Plaza titled Music Comes Alive For Visayas. But we feel that it should not stop there. A lot still needs to be done, especially for Leyte to be fully rehabilitated and fully recover from what happened a year ago,” said MCA Music president Ricky Ilacad.
Composed by MCA Music artist Krissy, Hope For Humanity speaks of faith in humankind in times of tragedy and is a call for action. With the affecting lyrics — “So wake up everybody. Something’s happened so terribly. But there’s still hope for humanity. Just pick yourself up and you’ll see” — the song truly fits the worthy endeavor. It gathers together MCA Music’s recording artists like Sitti, Mitoy Yonting, Lyca Gairanod, Klarisse de Guzman, Nyoy Volante, Sabrina, Gabby Alipe of Urbandub, Janice Javier, Myk Perez, Krissy, Paolo Onesa, Bassilyo, Franco, Solenn Heussaff, Erica Villongco, Aljur Abrenica, Edray Teodoro, Tonton Cabiles, Zendee, Loonie, Ron Henley, Nicole, JC Regino, CJ Panaligan of Iktus, Johnny Alegre and Domino.
Hope For Humanity can be downloaded on Nov. 24 on iTunes and can be streamed on Deezer, Spotify and Guvera on the same date. All proceeds will go to help.ph for the rehabilitation efforts for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) in Visayas.
