Julian headlines Gatsby dance tilt Phl finals
MANILA, Philippines - Julian Trono (photo) has grown into a sought-after performer that has inspired young dreamers to follow his lead and pursue their passion for dance.
The stage is set for this year’s search for the best student dancers in Asia.
Tomorrow, Nov. 15, Market! Market!’s Activity Center will serve as the venue for the ultimate dance showdown among young performers from various schools nationwide.
The Gatsby Seventh Dance Competition Philippine Finals will be the predetermining stage before the big event in Japan, which will be held in March 2015.
Aside from a grand showdown of dance prowess, the finalists, as well as the audience, will have the pleasure of watching Julian perform on stage.
The talent has become highly popular through his work as a regular coach and choreographer at BodyRock Dance Studio in Quezon City, and through his high-adrenaline performances. This is one of the performances worth looking out for on Saturday.
Aside from Julian’s performance, make sure to not miss the performances of the participating schools which will vie for two titles — the College Crew (Big Crew) and the Open College (Small Crew). Nine student groups (per category) will dance their way for a chance to become the Philippine representatives in the Japanese finals of the competition. To be held in Tokyo, the winners of the Open College Division (Small Crew) will not only get to represent the country in one of Asia’s much-awaited dance competitions, but they will also get to enjoy a free trip to Japan — all expenses paid as well as other fun prizes from Mandom Philippines, the exclusive distributor of Gatsby in the Philippines.
