Sharon Cuneta's mother Elaine dies

MANILA, Philippines – Elaine Cuneta, the mother of actress Sharon Cuneta, passed away on Wednesday.

This was confirmed by Sharon's daughter KC Concepcion on her Twitter account.

“Hi. I just lost the love of my life today. My Mita will forever be the BEST GRANDMA EVER. She will forever be with me. I love you, my Mita,” KC said.

“I will miss you laughing this much, this way. I shared so many fun times with you that I will recreate forever. You are my sunshine, Mita,” KC said on her Instagram account, together with a photo of her grandmother.

Elaine would have turned 80 this December. KC was vocal about her closeness to Elaine. The ABS-CBN actress even cried during an episode of ABS-CBN's morning talk show “Kris TV” aired Monday due to the health condition of her grandmother.

"Alam ko she's struggling and fighting to be well. Pero she's doing well. I just miss her lang talaga and I love you so much Mita,” KC said.

KC further told “Kris TV” her grandmother has been in the hospital for two months due to her condition: “She knows na mahal na mahal namin siya and she knows na we are always there for her nagbabantay, tumatawag kung ano na ang nangyayari.”

Elaine Cuneta had two children, Chet and Sharon, with former Pasay City Mayor Pablo Cuneta and is the sister of actress Helen Gamboa.
