WATCH: Gringo Honasan's daughter joins 'The Voice PH'

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Kai Honasan, the daughter of Sen. Gringo Honasan, is now part of the second season of ABS-CBN's reality talent show “The Voice of the Philippines.”

The 25-year-old singer, who sang Katy Perry's hit song “Teenage Dream” accompanied by a ukulele, was able to get the approval of the four “The Voice” judges Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo Mañalac, and apl.d.ap during the show's blind audition. In the end, Kai chose to be part of Bamboo's team.

"Who has been crazy enough, brave enough, to bring artists like yourself forward to battles, forward to the semis. People say, 'Hindi 'to bumabagay, it doesn't fit sort of a spectrum.' Sa akin, it doesn't matter. Ako, it's about artistry, it's about growth over prize. Ako lang, I think I'll be a good coach, right, Dad?” Bamboo said.

The senator was present during Kai's blind audition.

“We just pray and hope that the audience appreciates my daughter’s message, whatever the results are,” he said.
