MANILA, Philippines - For the sixth straight year, Unang Hirit will set up a Serbisyong Totoo-IMReady booth at the Manila North and South Cemeteries starting today until Nov. 1.
The booth will provide free water refill, emergency calls, cell phone charging and name tags for the kids in case they get lost. Philippine Red Cross personnel will also be on hand to administer first aid.
The Serbisyong Totoo-IMReady booth will also continue its Palit-Bote campaign, which encourages cemetery visitors to surrender their used plastic bottles. For every five bottles, one gets a giveaway. The campaign aims to help reduce the amount of garbage in cemeteries and help promote recycling. The collected bottles will go to Tzu Chi Foundation that will convert them to blankets.
The Serbisyong Totoo-IMReady booth is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, and 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow. Arnold Clavio will anchor from the North Cemetery for Unang Hirit. The booth will also be featured in 24 Oras, 24 Oras Weekend as well as online via www.gmanews.tv and the GMA News social media accounts (@gmanews).
GMA will present updates on weather and traffic gathered by the IMReady Public Service Group (www.imready.ph). Mobile and tablet users may also download the IMReady app from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
