MANILA, Philippines - “That was pretty crazy,” said Anne Curtis on the recent report claiming she is engaged to boyfriend Erwan Heussaff.
It can be remembered that a popular wedding blog posted a congratulatory message to Anne and Erwan on their Instagram account. This prompted netizens to believe that the long-time couple has joined showbiz's current engagement bandwagon.
However, the two immediately immediately denied that they are engaged.
In an interview with ABS-CBN's showbiz talk show “The Buzz” on Sunday, the 29-year-old actress said she learned about the engagement rumor from her sister Jasmine Curtis-Smith
“That day, I remember I was (watching) the finals of the UAAP. So malabo 'yung signal sa loob. All of a sudden, when I came out, sabi ko ‘What’s happening?’ My sister Jasmine called me, ‘Ate, are you engaged?’ I was like, ‘Sorry, what are you talking about?’ She’s like, ‘I just heard it on the radio. Are you engaged? How come I don’t know?’ Sabi ko, 'Because it’s not true.' And after Tim Yap texted, I was like, 'What was going on?',” Anne explained.
She further explained: “Finally, we heard na a certain blog had posted, congratulating us. Even si Erwan screen-capped it, sent it to me and said, 'Congratulations love'.” Anne said the wedding blog got in touch with Erwan to apologize and explain “it was a mistake of an intern who misread an article.”
“For me, it’s fine. It’s just funny, maybe because everyone is getting engaged. It’s this season,” Anne said of the rumor.
Anne—who will star in the suspense film “Blood Ransom, opening in theaters this week—has been very vocal in previous interviews that she plans to get married in the next “three to four years.”
Anne's relationship with Erwan has been making showbiz headlines this year, after it was rumored early this year that they have already broken up.
“I don't think it (the rumors) will ever stop as long as we're private. So okay lang. Siya (Erwan), natatawa na lang siya,” she said of the breakup rumors.
