Hannah’s Resort Most Outstanding Tourist Destination

MANILA, Philippines - Hannah’s Beach Resort & Convention Center has been named by Gawad Amerika Foundation as 2014 Most Outstanding Tourist Destination in the Philippines. In a letter addressed to the owner, retired PAF Col. Ricardo Nolasco, Gawad Amerika Foundation founding president and CEO Charles Simbulan cited the resort’s success and achievements as a tourist destination as basis for the award.

Col. Nolasco said, “I’m happy that our efforts to help promote tourism in Ilocos Norte have been recognized by such a prestigious entity like Gawad Amerika Foundation. The award will make us even more diligent and dedicated in our programs to promote Hannah’s Beach Resort in particular and Ilocos Norte in general in the field of local tourism.”

The awarding ceremonies will be held on Nov. 8 at the Celebrity Center in Hollywood. Also to be awarded are other Filipinos and Filipino-Americans who have distinguished themselves with achievements in their respective fields. Among those who have  been honored by Gawad Amerika are former Vice President Noli de Castro and Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, who received The Lifetime  Achievement Award; Rep. Manny Pacquiao, Lakandula awardee; PAO Chief Persisa Acosta for Outstanding Legal Jurisprudence; and Joel Cruz as Outstanding Entrepreneur/Philanthropist. For 2014, former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

With over 100 villas and two dormitories, Hannah’s Beach Resort sits on a cliff by the beach, providing a spectacular view of the sparkling Blue Lagoon. It is located at Sitio Malingay, Barangay Balaoi in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. It is named after Col. Nolasco’s only daughter Hannah, an aspiring singer who recently launched her debut album.

Among others, Hannah’s Beach Resort prides itself for having the longest zipline over water in the whole world. It is more than a kilometer long.
