Lifetime brings MasterChef Aussie judge to Asia
MANILA, Philippines - Celebrity chef and judge of popular cooking series MasterChef Australia George Calombaris comes to Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia this month to promote the new season of the show, which airs on Lifetime weeknights at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. The chef will be on tour starting today until Oct. 30 to host a series of dinners and live cooking demonstrations.
“The sixth season of MasterChef Australia recently premiered on Lifetime and we’re happy with viewers’ reception. This season, we meet the best group of amateur cooks the competition has seen. Lifetime has created a huge fan base for MasterChef Australia, so we’re thrilled to bring George to meet some of his fans around the region,” said Michele Schofield, SVP for Programming and Marketing, A+E Networks Asia.
Calombaris, who is known for his modern take on Greek cuisine which blends traditional and experimental techniques, goes to Malaysia today until Oct. 28, Singapore on Oct. 28 to 30, and Indonesia on Oct. 30.
Fans of MasterChef Australia can be part of the experience on Lifetime’s website (Lifetime.com/GeorgeInAsia) by voting for their favorite local dish that they would like Calombaris to eat while on his visit. The Top Three Voted Dishes from each country will be presented to Calombaris for a taste-off.
