And the winners are… Jake, Liza Best Actor, Best Actress at IFFM

MANILA, Philippines - Jake Cuenca (right) and Liza Diño (left) were named Best Actor (for Mulat) and Best Actress (for In Nomine Matris) at the just-concluded International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM), given at ceremonies held at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Consulate General in Manhattan, New York.

Mulat was directed by Diane Ventura who won Best Director for Global Feature.

It’s Liza’s second time to win the same honor at the IFFM. The first was in 2011 for Compound, directed by Will Fredo who stopped Liza from quitting showbiz.

Jake has 10 more days to finish a short acting course at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

Another Filipino, newbie Mark Justine Aguillon, won Best Actor for Short Films. — FELIX MANUEL
