MANILA, Philippines - Mary Christine Jolly has asked to be allowed to pull out the case she filed against her former partner, actor Derek Ramsay, from the Makati City Prosecutor's Office.

In a text message sent by Jolly’s legal counsel, Argee Guevarra, he said their camp decided to withdraw on Monday the Violence Against Women and Children violation complaint they filed against Derek last August at the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office “after receiving credible information that the preliminary investigation proceedings will not be conducted along the venue of ‘Tuwid na Daan.’”

“Due to this undue interference, Mrs. Ramsay will re-file her complaint for Violence Against Women and their Children against Mr. Derek Ramsay before the Department of Justice soon,” the lawyer said.

Guevarra also gave a brief statement on Derek’s interviews with the media after the two camps’ close-door meeting.

“Tawa lang kami nang tawa,” he said about Derek’s statements on the interviews. “Kasi he didn't care about his son for the past 11 years then he'll act now as if he cares about him that much?"

Guevarra added that Derek's camp wants “to get away from all of this, they're using the Papa Piolo formula, where he appears to love and care about his son. When in fact wala pa rin silang communication.”

If their request to withdraw the case is granted which Guevarra said is “the right of my client,” they will re-file their complaint at the Department of Justice by next week.”
