AXE dares to make men’s dreams come true
MANILA, Philippines - AXE is a brand that is unafraid to take bold steps with its promotions, last year with AXE Apollo Space Academy, with winner Chino Roque being granted a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as the first Filipino in space by 2016. This year, AXE maintains its ability to shock in the best ways possible for the promotion of AXE Gold Temptation, by offering the winner of this year’s competition an all-around Lifestyle Upgrade.
The latest promo is a search for the AXE Gold Man who embodies the traits of the “smooth sophisticate;” someone stylish, classy, confident, charming and funny. They asked men to send in their information along with a short explanation for why they deserved to be the AXE Gold Man. From all the entries they received on Facebook, they selected the best 400 answers and invited the men who submitted them to Eastwood Open Park for a competition.
Hundreds of eager men showed up brimming with excitement. The Top 10 were Antonio Salud, Dan Soriano, Ful Darunday, Jaime Ramirez, Jason Torres, Jensen Tan, Joric Canlas, LA Aguinaldo, Mon Medrano and Neil Enriquez.
AXE got Brand Ambassadors Tony Toni, Slick Rick and Sam YG of Boys Night Out and Carla Dunareanu hosted the whole-day event. The Boys were a perfect fit for a brand that is known for marketing the image of a man’s man to the masses, and Carla struck a balance to the Boys’ silliness with her beauty and poise.
Members of the AXE Gold Council were Luis Manzano, KC Montero and Solenn Heussaff. Competition was stiff, but ultimately, the 10 competitors were trimmed down to the Top 3: The Sleek Broker Antonio Salud, The Classy Entrepreneur Jaime Ramirez and The Suave Traveller LA Aguinaldo.
Things are just about to get interesting. Tonight at the Resorts World Manila, the lucky AXE man will be revealed.
