MANILA, Philippines - PLDT Home Fibr broadband, in cooperation with The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) and Junior Chamber International Ortigas (JCI Ortigas), recently held a star-studded and world-class charity gala night at an exclusive club in Makati City.
The main lounge was decked out with exquisite décor for a glamorous night of art and entertainment for a cause. Among the esteemed guests at the charity gala were Sen. JV Ejercito; Cavite Mayor Strike Revilla; former Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Philip Ella Juico; internationally-acclaimed glass sculptor Ramon Orlina; philanthropist-socialite Tessa Prieto-Valdes; former Miss Universe Gloria Diaz; and TOYM awardees Al Gabriel, Gene Gonzales and Risa Hontiveros.
The guests were serenaded by Martin Nievera, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Jenine Desiderio.
The event auctioned off masterpieces of 2006 TOYM awardee and world-class brass sculptor Michael Cacnio, and award-winning sculptor Juan Sajid Imao. Also auctioned off were the works of Filipino artists Maestro Angel Cacnio, Jun Martinez, Menchu Arandilla, Al Perez and Dr. Ton Raymundo. These works were the yields of that night’s on-the-spot painting session.
“We are very proud to be the broadband of choice among the topnotch citizens of our country. Tonight’s charity gala brought together outstanding local personalities to showcase Filipino excellence and talent. We feel honored to be part of such a world-class event,” said PLDT Home marketing head Gary Dujali.
All proceeds from the charity gala were for Gabay Guro, the flagship, educational project of the PLDT-SMART Foundation. Five masteral degree scholarships from the Philippine Women’s University were awarded to teachers that night.
