MANILA, Philippines - Daniel Padilla admitted that it was his voice heard in the short video clip circulating on the net on Friday.

In an interview aired on “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” on Monday, Daniel took the issue lightly saying “Magaling sila, magaling sila sa round na 'to. Pero babawi tayo sa second round.”

He confirmed as well that it was one of his friends who uploaded the audio clip.

“Wala, gano'n talaga, e,” he replied when asked how he felt about it. “We're not really that close. Pero still a friend.

The two persons linked in this controversy are couple Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Sam Concepcion. Daniel works with the former for the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Bonifacio.”

Part of the audio, which made everyone think Daniel is referring to the couple, said, “Tinext ko ulit 'yong babae, hindi nagre-reply.

Many fans of the Daniel-Kathryn Bernardo love team bashed Jasmine after the audio clip circulated.

The “Teen King” said he already explained to Kathryn the story behind the audio clip.

Misunderstanding. In-explain ko na lahat, naintindihan niya naman, kaya ang laking pasasalamat na pinatawad niya ako,” he said.

“Do'n lang ako nagkamali, lalaki ako, e.
