AXN bringing in 'Asia's Got Talent'
MANILA, Philippines - What Guinness World Record dubbed as the "Most Successful Reality TV Format" is preparing to enter the region through AXN Channel with the search for the next "Asia's Got Talent" stars kicking off this month.
AXN, a leading general entertainment channel in Asia, commissioned the pan-regional version of the global hit show, co-owned by FremantleMedia and Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment, as the scout for the Philippines' and Asia's best acts. The upcoming show will be among the 63 commissioned versions under the franchise.
"Asia's Got Talent" will premiere on AXN in the first quarter of 2015 across 20 countries including the Philippines, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Ang Hui Keng, general manager and senior vice president of Sony Pictures Television Networks Asia, said AXN is "excited" to provide a platform for contestants to present their exceptional skills before a sizeable Asian fanbase.
“Asia is an incredible melting pot of exceptional talent so we look forward to discovering the next generation of Asia-based stars on AXN,” he said in a statement.
The network said aspiring individual and group acts are invited to grab their "chance-in-a-lifetime" to make it big in front of millions of audiences and take home the ultimate prize.
"Budding stars can log on to www.axn-asia.com/AsiasGotTalent for registration and audition details. The ‘Asia’s Got Talent’ team will be talent scouting in 13 countries across Asia," AXN noted.
The semifinals and final shows will be broadcast from the famous Marina Bay Sands Resort in Singapore.
AXN previously brought in top-rated reality shows in the region including "The Amazing Race Asia" and "The Apprentice Asia," where a Filipino won. - Camille Diola
