MANILA, Philippines - Due to popular demand, Norte has been extended until Sept. 23 in cinemas.
Catch the critically-acclaimed film at Glorietta 4 (1 p.m. and 6 p.m.); Trinoma (12:05 p.m. and 4:55 p.m.); Greenhills Promenade (2:30 p.m. and 7:10 p.m.); Robinsons Galleria (7 p.m.) and Robinsons Metro East (7 p.m.).
Directed by Lav Diaz, written by Rody Vera and Lav, based on a story by Vera, Michiko Yamamoto and Raymond Lee, Norte which runs for four hours and 10 minutes has been getting glowing reviews here and overseas.
“Filmed in expansive takes with almost no close-ups and very few camera movements, Lav Diaz’s ‘Norte, the End of History’ is a tour de force of slow cinema. The movie, something of a sensation at Cannes last year, is not difficult or obscure — there is a clear, dramatic story involving characters who solicit both empathy and curiosity,” recently reviewed the New York Times.
Norte stars Sid Lucero, Angeli Bayani, Archie Alemania, Soliman Cruz, Hazel Orencio and Mae Paner.
