MANILA, Philippines - The 29 official candidates of Miss Casino Filipino 2014 were presented to the members of the press last Sept. 12 at Midas Hotel in Pasay City.
Hailing from the various provinces in the Philippines, the candidates were selected from hundreds of aspirants who participated in the nationwide Miss Casino Filipino screenings. These were held at the Casino Filipino branches in Bacolod, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Angeles, Olongapo, Tagaytay, Malabon, Hyatt and Pavillion.
This year’s roster of candidates includes local pageant winners, young professionals and college students, “We have an engineer, a pharmacist, a nurse and graduates of Speech Pathology and Hotel and Restaurant Management, among others. We are happy that the pool of our Miss Casino Filipino candidates is improving every year,” said Bong Quintana, PAGCOR’s AVP for Entertainment and Bingo.
The finalists from the Visayas and Mindanao regions are Roselyn Corilla, Joy Magielen Jontilano, Saiphil Nipales, Rogelie Catacutan, Julienne Hazel Panserga, Maria Fatima Saudia Al-Sowyed, Mary Grace Castillo, Gladys Comandao, Zairah Marie Agsaluna, Jenny Babe Puda and Eiseley Kyle Pragados.
Luzon bets are Berna Gail Penales, Camille Laylay, Emylyn Perez, Johvielyne Co, Martina Mckinsey, Donna Velasco, Gel Dacion, Emma Mary Tiglao and Maolin Yalung.
Meanwhile, the candidates representing Metro Manila are Danila Joan Ruazol, Janine Loudette Alipo-on, Abbygale Rey, Dale Ivory Lee, Ivy Meerry Enriquez, Haydee Gumasing, Angela Aninang, Rosemary Turner and Agatha Lei Romero.
Apart from participating in PAGCOR’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects and being able to help various charities, the past winners of Miss Casino Filipino were also given career opportunities like performing regularly in different Casino Filipino venues.
The grand winner will take home P500,000 in cash. The runners-up will receive P400,000 (first), P300,000 (second), P200,000 (third) and P100,000 (fourth). PAGCOR will also award special prizes such as Best in Talent, Best in Long Gown, Best in Swimsuit, Miss Friendship and Miss Photogenic. Winners of the special awards will get P10,000 each. Meanwhile, the candidate who gets the most number of “Likes” in the Casino Filipino Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/casinofilipino will receive the Social Media Darling award and other prizes.
The grand coronation night will be held tomorrow, Sept. 19, at Midas Hotel and Casino, to be hosted by Bianca Manalo and Marc Nelson. The panel of judges includes Gabby Concepcion, Vince Hizon, Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International 2014 Glennifer Perido and Vic Alcuaz. Guest performers are Randy Santiago, Ariel Rivera, Kyla, Merjohn Lagaya, Marcus Davis with Whiplash and Buganda Dancers.
