MANILA, Philippines – Daniel Padilla won't be suiting up for the PBA Development League after all.
On Monday, September 15, reports surfaced that the popular ABS-CBN teen actor may join the PBA D-League after he was selected by school-based team AMA Titans in the 15th round of the league’s draft at the PBA office in Libis, Quezon City.
Sports website Spin.ph reported that Padilla was included in the AMA Titan's draft list as their final pick.
The website further explained that Padilla was not part of the more than 150 players who applied for the D-League draft.
However, D-League director Eric Castro said Padilla is eligible to join the league because he is a student of AMA.
But while he is included in the draft list, Padilla — through talent management arm Star Magic public relations head Thess Gubi — said he won't be playing for the D-League.
“Syempre po gusto ko maglaro for PBA pero hindi po totoo ang balita,” Padilla said.
