Christopher Cross coming

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Christoper Cross (photo) is coming to Manila for a two-night concert on Oct. 29, 8 p.m. at PICC Plenary Hall and on the following day, Oct.  30, 8 p.m. at Resorts World Manila Newport Performing Arts Theater.

Cross is scheduled to release a new album called Secret Ladder this month. His album evokes the artistry of such great singer-songwriters as Joni Mitchell and Randy Newman while addressing contemporary concerns head-on — a combination which is sure to please his loyal fan base.

With special guest Carla Guevarra who portrayed Kim/Gigi of Miss Saigon in the ’90s, the shows are being staged for the benefit of the Wildlife Conservation Program of Zoobic Safari.
When Cross released his self-titled debut album with the lead single Ride Like the Wind, it instantly rocketed to the No. 2 spot on Billboards. His second single Sailing made Cross a superstar and in the wake of two more Top 20 hits, Never Be the Same and Say You’ll Be Mine, he walked off with a record-setting five Grammys in 1981, including Best New Artist and Song of the Year for Sailing.

Tickets are available at Ticketworld – 891-9999, SM Tickets – 470-2222, Ticketnet – 911-5555 and Resorts World Box Office – 908-8000 loc. 7700.
