MANILA, Philippines - Beyonce earned praises in social media when she struck a superhero pose in front of the word FEMINISM during her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards 2014. The MTV VMAs was the event that everyone was talking about, until ‘Modern Family’ star Sofia Vergara stepped onto a pedestal that rotated 360 degrees at the stage of the 2014 Emmy Awards.

Just about 24 hours after, the statement of equality that rang out on the VMAs was replaced with a seemingly sexist bit when the voluptuous Sofia Vergara was put atop a giant lazy Susan like a sports car at a car show at the Emmys while the chair of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Bruce Rosenblum went on with his speech about television diversity and the impressive people that worked together to produce the television shows.

While Vergara playfully engaged in the stunt, striking poses while her famous curves were being seen by millions of viewers, the audience anxiously giggled at the all of a sudden act.

Meanwhile, the social media reacted on how the four-time Emmy nominee was objectified by the sketch.

Rosenblum concluded his speech, “What truly matters is that we never forget that our success is based on always giving the viewer something compelling to watch.”

If he means compelling, as in a curvaceous Latina spinning on pedestal, then he might have sent the message right.
