MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino took on Derek Ramsay's challenge as she is now one of the many local celebrities who have done the ALS ice bucket challenge.

In the Sunday, August 24, episode of ABS-CBN's showbiz talk show “The Buzz,” the TV host-actress let herself be doused with ice-cold water on live television.

It was TV5 star and friend Derek Ramsay who nominated Kris to do the ice bucket challenge on Saturday, August 23.

“The Buzz” co-host Toni Gonzaga and her son Bimby poured the ice cold water on Kris.

Kasi di ba, kaya nila ito ginagawa hindi para mag-basa lang or whatever. Ginagawa nila ito to raise awareness... So I'm doing my share,” she said.

She nominated “Kris TV” writer Darla Sauler, “Umagang Kay Ganda” co-host Anthony Taberna, and “It's Showtime” co-host Vice Ganda to do the ice bucket challenge.

The ALS ice bucket challenge, which took social media by storm the past few weeks, aims to raise awareness about amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Those who are nominated to do the challenge can either post video of themselves being doused with ice cold water or donate $100 for ALS research. Most celebrities who do the challenge do both.
