A picture of ‘disciplined elegance’
MANILA, Philippines - At the recent SONA, Congresswoman Rosemarie “Baby” Arenas and her namesake-daughter, former Congresswoman and now Philippine Red Cross governor Rachel “Baby” Arenas (right) proved to be attention-getters themselves in what was described as their ‘elegantly simple/simply elegant’ attire.
A true style icon, Mama Baby wore a ruby red terno which cut a striking contrast to her alabaster skin. She wore no blings except for a dainty diamond brooch. Her dress had clean and simple lines and was a vision of perfection, without a hair or a stitch out of place. She was a picture of disciplined elegance.
She opted to wear the color of red as a symbol of love of country, to express hope for a bright future and to celebrate a dynamic present for the country.
Daughter Baby wore a baby pink chiffon terno, also the color of love, youth and harmony. Mother and daughter were, as one fashion critic said, “easily the most glamorous.”
Highlight of the event was mother and daughter’s “selfie” with no less than Pres. Noynoy Aquino (top, left). And then, Rep. Baby posed with Vice Pres. Jojo Binay and former Pres. Fidel Ramos (top, right) whom she considers her “mentor and inspiration.”
