Sarah Geronimo proud of ‘The Voice Kids’ talents Lyca and Darren
MANILA, Philippines- Sarah Geronimo is thankful to everyone who supported her "The Voice Kids" talents, Lyca Gairanod and Darren Espanto.
Her two talents topped the ABS-CBN talent search show which aired its finale on Sunday, July 27. Lyca was hailed as the grand champion with Darren trailing her as the first runner-up.

“Alam mo sobrang tuliro ako kapag nagka-campaign ako sa dalawa,” Sarah said in an interview after the show's grand finals night. “Kasi pareho ko silang mahal, pareho akong naniniwala sa talento nila, sabi ko kahit sino manalo sa kanila, okay na ko.”
The Popstar Princess admits that she was surprised how Lyca and Darren gave their all in the last two nights of the competition.
“Si Darren nakita ko talaga siyang nag-shine last night sa rendition niya ng 'Ngayon.' Talagang powerful, talagang wow! Akala ko siya na talaga, e,” Sarah said.
“ Lyca tonight… tinanong ko siya kung alam niyang grand finals na ito, sabi niya, ‘Opo!’ It was obvious sa kanyang performances. Kinanta niya ‘yong 'Narito Ako' fine better sa pagkaka-perform niya last night,” she said, referring to Lyca's final song.
She also reminded her talents and even the other two "The Voice Kids" finalists Juan Karlos Labajo and Darlene Vibares that the competition’s results should not stop them from achieving their dreams.
“‘Yong titulo importante ‘yan, oo, The Voice champion. Pero ang pinakaimportante sa lahat ‘yong sinimulan mo, kung paano mo ipagpapatuloy ‘yon,” she said.
Meanwhile, Lyca’s parents, Maria and Mario Gairanod, were very happy to see their daughter reach her dreams.
Mommy Maria recalled the times when Lyca would tell her, “Gusto ko sumali sa ganyan [contest]. Sasali ako sa ganyan.”
She was also thankful to her daughter because now, they’ll be living in a better house compared to the one they have in Tanza, Cavite.
“Ngayon po mayro’n na kaming sariling bahay. Di na kami lilipat ng bahay kapag malakas ang ulan, kasi may bahay na kami,” she said.
Though Lyca will be pursuing her singing career, especially since she has a one year recording contract with MCA Universal, Mommy Maria promised that “patatapusin po talaga namin siya ng pag-aaral.”
