Aljur wants out of GMA Network
MANILA, Philippines - Aljur Abrenica (photo), 24, yesterday went to court to file a Judicial Confirmation of Rescission of Contract (which expires in 2017 yet) against GMA Network, the same company that plucked him out of anonymity and groomed him to be where he is now via the talent search StarStruck.
Aljur said that (verbatim in the vernacular) “hindi po ako nabibigyan ng pagpapahalaga at respeto sa career na gusto ko,” despite the big breaks the network has been giving him, the latest having been the lead role in Kambal-Sirena.
Did Aljur also say that he lost his contract with Bench because (GMA) made him sing naughty songs and appear in “obscene/indecent” roles?
A Bench person said that Aljur’s GMA work has nothing to do with Bench’s decision to drop him.
“He didn’t want to appear in underwear in our shows,” said the Bench person, “so we dropped him.”
Aljur also said that he decided to go to court with the guidance of the people around him, his parents and “ang Panginoon.”
A respected showbiz veteran has a piece of advice for GMA: “Let him go! He’s not worth it.”
That comment echoes the theme song of the movie Frozen.
As in “frozen” delight. If you know what that means.
