Piolo willing to quit showbiz when he finds 'the one'

MANILA, Philippines- Piolo Pascual says he’s willing to quit showbiz once he finds “the one.”

During the press conference of his upcoming show “Hawak Kamay” that will start airing on July 21, Piolo said that the public will know that he’s with the right person “kapag nag-quit na ako.”

Though he won’t leave showbiz totally, he’ll prioritize his future family.

He also said he wants a big family. He grew up in a family of six.

“I want a big family,” he said. “Kaso habang tumatanda parang kumonti nang onti, kasi baka ‘yong apat na ‘yon dalawa na lang. Pero ideally sana four, not necessarily four. I grew up in a family of six, mahirap kapag mag-isa ka lang.”

In a separate interview, Piolo said that he would like to end up with a girl in her 20’s, but he clarified during the presscon that “nasa mid-twenties or late-twenties.”

The clock may be ticking for Piolo since he’s turning 40 in two years, and his son Iñigo turning 18 next year, “40 na ako, tapos ‘yong anak ko may girlfriend, ang loser ko naman!” he said laughing. “So sana masabayan ko rin siya, double date kami.”

When asked if he’s not considering Shaina to be that girl, the Kapamilya actor replied smiling, “sa amin na lang ‘yon.”

For now, however, the search for that “Ms. Right” is on hold since he wants to focus on his upcoming TV series.

“I can’t juggle both,” he explained. “I don’t even have time for myself. Why commit to something na alam ko hindi ko rin naman mapapanindigan? Nasa trabaho ako everyday, so ‘yong time na imbes na ipapahinga ko na, mako-compromise ko pa.”
