MANILA, Philippines - The self-titled romantic-mystery drama of homegrown TV5 star Jasmine Curtis-Smith continues to engage more viewers every week as the unidentified stalker known only as Maskara wreaks havoc on the life and career of Jasmine’s fictitious version of herself in the series. Aside from the compelling developments in the story, JasMine the series has a growing online following, as proven by its notable presence on social media, particularly on Twitter.
For three consecutive weeks now, JasMine has been trending on Twitter, with tweets showing how viewers are reacting to the surprising twists and turns in the story as well as on Jasmine’s commendable acting in the suspense-thriller. Last June 14, the hashtag #WhosTheSTALKER figured at the No. 1 spot in the top trending list in the Philippines. The following Saturday, June 21, the hashtag #JasmineURLoved also trended at No. 1 in the country.
Breaking records for the show was the hashtag #STALKERKaKung, which made it to No. 2 worldwide and simultaneously at No. 1 in the Philippines last June 28, generating over 48,600 tweets and more than 3,000 re-tweets and staying at the top trending list for 24 hours up to June 29.
As the story of JasMine progresses, expect more shocked reactions and wild guesses on the true identity of Maskara. There have been accidents and deaths, and some important characters have been Maskara’s hapless victims.
