PAGCOR launches 4th Miss Casino Filipino search

MANILA, Philippines - After three fruitful years of honoring the modern-day Filipina through its nationwide beauty pageant, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) is again searching for talented and beautiful ladies who have what it takes to be this year’s Miss Casino Filipino.

Bong Quintana, AVP of PAGCOR’s Entertainment Department noted that since its launch in 2011, the Miss Casino Filipino pageant has given many young Filipinas the opportunity to showcase their beauty and passion for community service.

“We have seen how these beautiful women improved after the competition. Some of our past winners have joined other major local pageants after joining the Miss Casino Filipino contest and some of them did well in those competitions,” Quintana said.

He explained that the Miss Casino Filipino pageant basically promotes personal growth and development among deserving young Filipinas while helping them become role models for the younger generation. “In this competition, PAGCOR recognizes and honors the traditional Filipino traits like honesty, good moral character, talent, poise, intellect, leadership and good judgment. Likewise, it provides financial assistance through cash prizes and employment opportunities to the winning candidates,” he added.

The Miss Casino Filipino 2014 pageant, which is open to all single Filipinas who are 18 to 25 years old, requires each contestant to choose her Filipina role model and share how her chosen icon influenced her life.  Every candidate should also present her personal advocacy that will serve as her guide during her reign as Miss Casino Filipino.

Among the Miss Casino Filipino finalists and winners who became mainstay PAGCOR artists are Raine de Guzman, Carin Ramos, Kimberly Pajares and Reynalin Yamanouchi. They are now members of the all-female group called Krazy Chikz. These Miss Casino Filipino beauty queens previously did fashion shows at the different CF gaming venues.

The Miss Casino Filipino 2014 offers big prizes. The grand winner will receive P500,000 in cash while the runners-up will take home the following cash prizes: P400,000 (first), P300,000 (second), P200,000 (third) and P100,000 (fourth).  Winners of special prizes such as Best in Talent, Best in Long Gown, Best in Swimsuit, Miss Friendship and Miss Photogenic will each receive P10,000.

Deadline of submission of applications will be on the following go-see dates in various Casino Filipino branches: July 25 (Bacolod), July 29 (Cebu), Aug. 1 (Davao), Aug. 6 (Iloilo), Aug. 12 (Olongapo), Aug. 15 (Angeles), Aug. 19 (Hyatt), Aug. 22 (Tagaytay), Aug. 26 (Malabon Satellite) and Aug. 29 (Pavilion).
