Kris, Vice, Vic movies lead official entries of 2014 MMFF

MANILA, Philippines – The movies of Kris Aquino, Vice Ganda, and Vic Sotto lead the eight entries that were chosen as part of the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
 
Announced by chairman Francis Tolentino of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Saturday, June 21, the official eight entries for this year's festival are as follows: 
 
1. “Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2”: (Reality Entertainment, GMA Films and Agostodos Pictures) Starring Dingdong Dantes and Isabelle Daza; Directed by Erik Matti
 
2. “Bonifacio”: (Philippians Productions) Starring Robin Padilla add Iza Calzado; Directed by Lawrence Williams
 
3. “Magnum Muslim .357”: (Scenema Concept) Starring ER Ejercito; Directed by Jun Posadas
 
4. “Praybeyt Benjamin 2”: (ABS-CBN Productions (Star Cinema) and VIVA Productions) Starring Vice Ganda and Richard Yap; Directed by Wenn Deramas
 
5. “Feng Shui 2”: (ABS-CBN Productions (Star Cinema)) Starring Kris Aquino and Coco Martin; Directed by Chito Roño
 
6. “My Big Bossing's Adventures”: (Octoarts, MZET, APT Ent) Starring Ryzza Mae Dizon and Vic Sotto; Directed by Joyce Bernal, Marlon Rivera, and Tony Reyes
 
7. “Shake Rattle & Roll”: (Regal Entertainment) Starring Dennis Trillo and Carla Abellana; Directed by Jerrold Tarog
 
8. “English Only, Please”: (Quantum Films, Heaven's Best Entertainment) Starring Angeline Quinto and Sam Milby; Directed by Dan Villegas
 
Meanwhile, two entries were chosen as standby entries in case any of the eight entries backs out. The standby entries are:
 
1. “Kid Kulafu”: (Ten17 Productions) Starring Cesar Montano, Alessandra de Rossi; Directed by Paul Soriano
 
2. “Kung ang Hanap Mo ay Ligaya sa Buhay”: (T-Rex Ent) Starring Boots Anson-Roa and Ronnie Liang; Directed by Elwood Perez
