Surprise birthday treat for John Spainhour

Sunod-sunuran siya sa suwail na anak.” And what is the boy’s over-protective manager doing about it. Is he as helpless as the girl’s mom?

• Advance happy birthday to Fr. Joey Faller (photo) who is celebrating his 50th birthday on June 20 with a Mass at 10 a.m. at his Kamay ni Hesus Healing Church in Lucban, Quezon. Fr. Joey has invited “the people close to my heart, the people who have helped me become what I am now, the people who have touched my life.”

When John Spainhour, our bet in the 2014 Mr. World pageant, turned 27 Friday last week, June 6, the Mr. World organizers surprised him with a birthday cake while the 45 other contestants greeted him with a song at the seaside town of Torquay, England.

Later, harnessing his military training with the US Marine, John finished one of the Top 10 during the Extreme Challenge held in the UK Royal Marines Commando Training Center in Lympstone.

In the other sports challenges, John and Mr. England placed second in bowling (losing by one pin to Mr. Korea Jae Yeon Lim and Mr. Brazil Reinaldo Augusto Dalcin; and with his Blue Team won in sailing.

Hosting the Mr. World finals on June 15 at the Riviera International Conference Center are 2013 Miss World Megan Young and 2012 Mr. Canada-World Frankie Cena.

The winner will succeed reigning Mr. World Francisco Javier Escobar Parra of Colombia.

• Better late than never. Here’s the reaction of KC Concepcion (photo, taken while KC was working out in the States she came back from New York last june 6) to the rumor that she’s pregnant, direct from her Instagram, contributed to Funfare by reader “JJ”:

Once & for all: What is this rumor that I am “pregnant”??? I AM NOT PREGNANT. I HAVE NEVER BEEN PREGNANT in my whole entire life. Someone tried to spread this rumor since I left for Paris at 18 & wow now it’s back? Please.

When the time comes that I would be blessed with a beautiful baby I will be the first one to proudly announce it to my family, friends and supporters, loved ones. Although I don’t want to be rushed…

I honestly can’t wait for that day…

• Congratulations to Camille Villar who has just graduated from IESE (Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Emprese) Business School in Barcelona, Spain. Camille is the only daughter of former Sen. Manny Villar (chairman of the Villar Group) and Sen. Cynthia Villar who flew to Spain last weekend to attend the graduation. Camille completed her Masters in Business Administration.
