MANILA, Philippines - Drew Arellano (in red) is quite determined to discover and experience the adventures that Kota Kinabalu has to offer in a special two-part episode of GMA News TV’s Biyahe ni Drew tonight at 8.
Drew travels about 1,100 km. away from the Philippines to Sabah. His goal is to reach the peak of the highest mountain in the Malay Archipelago which is located at the Island of Borneo in the East Peninsula of Malaysia. Mt. Kinabalu measures 4,095 meters, taller than the Philippines’ Mt. Apo which is about 2,954 meters high. His journey begins at the Kinabalu Park, which is considered as the first national park in Malaysia and was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Drew visits several tourist destinations around Sabah such as the Mari-Mari Cultural Village where he meets various Sabah indigenous groups. Drew tries the Lihin Nylin, a rice wine that resembles the Pinoy lambanog and experiences traditional cooking using bamboo.
