MANILA, Philippines – Could this controversy affect their much-hyped Manila concert next year?

In a video released on Tuesday (Wednesday morning, Manila time) and obtained by British news site Mail Online, two members of the popular boy band One Direction were seen smoking a rolled-up cigarette while joking about drug use.

The video, reportedly taken in Peru during the Latin America leg of their 2014 concert tour, features Louis Tomlinson shooting a video with Zayn Malik as they drive through Lima, Peru.

It shows the two passing the rolled up cigarette. “That’s just Zayn warming up there before the show,” Louis said in the video.

“Zayn takes his job very seriously. He makes sure he goes through a two-hour intense warm up regime before every show, just to get himself in the zone. One very, very important factor to Zayn’s warm up, of course is Mary Jane herself. In fact I’m presenting it to him now for some fantastic singing,” he further said. 

Mary Jane is a slang for marijuana.

British boy band One Direction, formed in the 2010 edition of The X Factor in the United Kingdom, is comprised of Zayn, Louis, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles.

The group will hold a two-night concert in the Philippines in March 21 and 22 next year as part of their On the Road Again tour.
